Review Methodology

How RankBoast evaluates technology products, services and claims.

Start with the reader decision

Every review or comparison should identify the audience, use case and decision it is intended to support. Criteria are selected before a conclusion is written.

Testing and evidence

Where practical, we use the product or service in representative tasks and record the environment, version and testing period. When hands-on testing is not possible, the article must state that limitation and rely on attributable evidence.

Comparisons

Products are compared using consistent criteria such as capability, reliability, privacy, support, total cost, performance and ease of use. The weight of each criterion depends on the intended user and is explained when it materially affects the verdict.

Updates

Technology changes quickly. Material retesting and factual updates should be dated. A changed recommendation should explain what evidence changed.

Samples and access

Loaned or supplied products do not guarantee coverage or a positive result. RankBoast does not allow a vendor to purchase a review score.
